KHS Presents "Little Women"
The beloved classic “Little Women” will be staged by Kearney High School on February 10-12. Show times at the Kearney High Auditorium are 7:30 on February 10 and 11 and 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 12.
Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experiences (and novel), “Little Women”, follows the adventures of Jo (Grace Manley), Meg (Cassidy Besse), Beth (Mikayla Uden) and Amy March (Emma Brandt) as they grow up in Civil War America. The beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Now, this wonderful narrative has been brought to life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious music, dancing and heart. “Little Women” embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. This powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope -- the sounds of a young America finding its voice.
Rachel Kermmoade portrays the girls’ mother Marmee while Madeline Christensen plays Aunt March. The girls’ love interests are played by Sullivan Moore, Jeremy Brown, and Noah Murrish. Other cast members are Natalie Murrish, Joe Hanson, Tori Thomas, Cody Jordan, Griffin Mims, Christian Urugutia, Anna Nelson, Jazzmyn Anderson, Emily Manley, Brianna Melroy, and Jeremy Knispel.
Advance tickets are available at Shopping Tripps, Come and Get It and the KHS Main Office. Advance tickets are discounted $1. Admission prices are adults $8; Senior Citizens (60+) $7, and Students (K-12) $5. $10 reserve seats are available at the door or from the main office.
The show is directed by Mel Shoemaker and Clayton Moyer. The choreographer is Rosamond Thalken and the accompanist is Laura Pierce. Clifford Jameson, Shawn Deiger, and Kim Hauschild provide technical assistance.
